RowReady is made by one person. If something is broken or a plan looks wrong, email hello@rowready.app and you will get a reply from a human.

hello@rowready.app — the fastest way to reach us. Please include your device, your iOS version, and your monitor model if the problem involves connecting.

Connecting to your monitor

The app cannot find my monitor

Wake the monitor first — take a stroke or press a button. It only advertises over Bluetooth while it is awake. Then check that Bluetooth is on, and that RowReady has Bluetooth permission under Settings › RowReady.

It finds the monitor but will not connect

A monitor will only talk to one device at a time. If a phone, tablet or watch nearby is already connected, disconnect it there first. If it still fails, turn Bluetooth off and on again, then retry.

It disconnects part-way through a workout

RowReady shows a banner when this happens and keeps everything already rowed. The usual cause is monitor batteries running low — they weaken well before the display looks dim.

No heart rate

Heart rate reaches RowReady through the monitor, not from the phone. Pair your chest strap to the monitor itself and confirm the reading appears on the monitor before starting a workout in the app.

Training plans

Where the plans come from

The Pete Plan, the 5K plan, the Beginner plan and the Sprint/HIIT sessions are reproduced as Pete Marston published them, and are included with his permission. If you spot a session that does not match the published plan, please tell us — we would rather fix it than have anyone train on the wrong numbers.

Can I skip a session or do them out of order?

Yes. RowReady records what you have completed and offers the next unfinished session; nothing stops you rowing something else.

Your data

Where are my workouts stored?

On your device, in a local database. Nothing is uploaded and there is no account.

How do I get my data out?

Settings › Export Data writes every workout to a CSV file you can share or open in a spreadsheet.

What happens if I delete the app?

Because everything is stored on the device, deleting the app deletes your workout history with it. Export first if you want to keep it.

Reporting a bug

Email us with what you were doing, what you expected, and what happened instead. If it involves connecting to a monitor, switch on Settings › Advanced › BLE Debug Log, reproduce the problem, and describe what the log showed — it makes connection issues far quicker to track down.
